Balance

The status bar shows the balance of every coin, plus the total in your currency once prices have loaded. Click it for the details.

The details

The balance window lists Monero and each Bitcoin and Litecoin wallet, with what each holds and what it’s worth:

Spendable
What you can send right now.
Unconfirmed
Payments not confirmed yet, and Monero that is still locked.
Total
Both together.

Monero’s 10 blocks

Monero received can be spent after 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes. It’s a rule of the Monero network, not a Biscuit setting. Until then it counts as unconfirmed.

It also applies to your change: when you send Monero, the rest of the coins you spent comes back to you as change, and is locked for 10 blocks too. That’s why part of your balance shows as unconfirmed right after sending. Having your money in several outputs instead of one big one avoids it; sweeping can split an output.

Frozen coins don’t count in any balance until you thaw them, see Coin control.

Display settings

  • Settings › Appearance › Balance display: show the total, spendable plus unconfirmed, or spendable only.
  • Fiat currency and Show fiat balance in statusbar, on the same page.
  • Settings › Display › Hide balance, if people can see your screen.
  • Amount precision sets how many decimals are shown.

Values in your currency need third-party data. With it disabled, balances show in coins only. A balance that looks wrong? See My balance looks wrong.
