Coin control

Your Bitcoin balance is made of coins: one for each payment received, and one for each change. Turn on View › Coins and pick Bitcoin or Litecoin to see the coins of the selected wallet, with their address and confirmations.

What you can do

Select one or several, then right-click:

Freeze
The coin is never spent, not by Max and not by swaps, until you unfreeze it or choose it yourself.
Send these coins…
Opens Send limited to these coins.
Copy
The address, or the coin itself as txid:output.

Why it matters

Spending coins from different addresses in one payment shows on the blockchain that they belong to the same person. If some coins came from an exchange that knows your name, and others from somewhere private, spending them together links the two. Freeze the ones you want to keep apart, or send them on their own.

Freezing also protects against “dust”: tiny amounts some people send to many addresses, hoping you’ll spend them with your other coins.
