Addresses

On Bitcoin and Litecoin, every address and every payment to it is public. Anyone who knows one of your addresses can look it up on a block explorer. That’s why Biscuit gives you a new one after each payment.

A new address after each payment

Once the address on Receive gets a payment, Biscuit shows a new one. Someone who paid you can then only see their own payment, not everything else you received. Old addresses keep working, and any payment to them still shows up.

The buttons

New address
A fresh address whenever you want, one per person who pays you for example. Biscuit stops at 20 unused addresses in a row: wallets that restore your seed, Biscuit included, stop looking after 20 empty ones, so a payment further out would be missed.
All addresses…
Every address of the wallet, with how many payments each received and what it still holds. The change addresses, where the rest of a payment comes back to you, are listed too. Right-click one to copy it or show its QR code.
Keep this address after payments
Stops the rotation, if you’d rather give out one address for good, on a donation page say. Anyone with that address can see every payment it gets.

Checking an address

To prove an address is yours, sign a message with it: see Signed messages. Biscuit never accepts an address of the wrong coin or network: paste a Litecoin address in Bitcoin Send, and it switches to Litecoin.
