Bitcoin and Litecoin in Biscuit

Bitcoin and Litecoin share the same wallet code in Biscuit. They are light wallets: instead of downloading the blockchain, Biscuit asks Electrum servers about your addresses, so they’re ready in seconds.

Seeds and addresses

Your first Bitcoin and Litecoin wallets come from one 12-word BIP39 seed, made when you create your wallet. Biscuit uses native SegWit addresses and the standard paths, so the same seed opens your coins in Sparrow, Electrum or any BIP39 wallet:

CoinAddressesPath
Bitcoinbc1q…m/84’/0’/0’ (BIP84)
Litecoinltc1q…m/84’/2’/0’ (BIP84)

Coins on older address types of the same seed (starting with 1, 3, L or M) don’t show in Biscuit. Restore the seed in a wallet that reads those, and send them to your Biscuit address.

Several wallets per coin

You can keep more than one Bitcoin or Litecoin wallet inside the same Biscuit wallet, to keep savings apart from spending money for example. Each has its own name, its own seed and its own balance.

Back up the seed of each wallet you add: it isn’t the same as your first one. Wallet › Bitcoin and Litecoin seeds shows them all.

Signed messages and contacts work for every coin: see Signed messages and Contacts. Litecoin’s MWEB private transactions aren’t supported.
